During the BA-BF model era for Ford an all new engine was developed and manufactured in Geelong, Victoria.
It was a turbocharged, intercooled, twin cam, alloy head, 4 valves per cylinder, with variable cam timing on a huge 4.0 litre cast iron block.
This all new, world class, straight 6 cylinder engine was code named Barra. Short for Barramundi, a fierce Australian fish.
These Barra engines are well known for producing over 1000hp in street cars and surprise many due to their tame and quiet idle until the boost comes on.

Ford Australia created a specific model for the new Barra engine, named the Falcon XR6 Turbo in the BA model range. It was an instant success with
the Australian public. The only way to top this achievement would be to release a limited edition, high performance version of the XR6T.
So in the BA MKII model range of 2004 a sportier FPV (Ford Performance Vehicles) F6 Typoon was introduced with more power, better brakes, handling
and more aggressive appearance to fill this void.

Sedans ran an F6 Typhoon badge and Utes ran an F6 Tornado badge throughout the BA-BF range. However it was thought that for the new, more refined
FPV Turbo vehicle in the FG lineup that the extreme storm titles would be dropped and the top of the range FPV sports turbo vehicle will now be known as just the F6.

The 2012 FG MKII, FPV F6 on display here is to the later end of the model range, just before the final Australian FPV model was ended permanently, with the FG-X.
This F6 was painted in a rare electric Blue colour known as Kinetic Blue and boy does it demand attention. Matched with the F6 310 badges, people know it’s a fast car.
If only they knew the 310 is highly underestimated and this Blue Jet is now producing well over 510kw thanks to a stage 3 Nizpro Performance upgrade.

The Nizpro Stage 3, Option 1 upgrade valued at over $27,000 consists of a Borg Warner EFR 83-74 Turbocharger, Hi Flow injectors, 102mm dual cat exhaust system,
Hi Flow intercooler kit, Nizpro cold air intake, surge tank, Hi volume sump, Nizpro custom tuning, X4 flash tuner for E85 & Premium ULP, plus more, making a whopping
450rwkw of user friendly power and torque. But don’t be fooled. This Jet also doubles as a smooth, quiet & luxurious daily driver in busy traffic conditions,
with all the luxury one would expect from a late model FPV motorcar. The Nizpro upgrade has traveled less than 3,000km of normal street driving so far.

This FPV F6 310 has done hardly any Kilometres in it’s 9 year existence and has been serviced, cherished and pampered like one should expect for
this caliber of modern Australian Muscle Car. It has a full service history, books, FPV folder and all of the original engine components to go back to the
factory specifications should you choose to. The only other modification are the brand new Concave FR-C Simmons Wheels wrapped in High Performance Pirelli P Zero tyres.
Once again, the factory FPV Alloy Wheels have also been set aside and are included in the sale should you want to run the original look.

The F6 is in Immaculate condition still, both inside out. It will come with the JETBLU plates, reg and RWC for Victorian buyers.
There is no finance owing and the title of this instant classic is clean.

It is an appreciating asset and perfect modern Aussie Muscle Car that will go down in history as one of the greatest Turbocharged, straight 6 engines ever produced.
