With HSV replacing the former Holden High Performance Vehicle branch of HDT run by legendary Holden racing car driver Peter Brock in 1987,
it was only a matter of time before the models got faster and drove better with more modern technology. HSV was formed when Holden who was having problems with
Peter Perfect Brock at the time over some controversial Energy Polarizer Crystals in the HDT cars, decided to team up with Tom Walkinshaw Racing under the
all new badge of Holden Special Vehicles, better known as HSV.
The first car developed by HSV was the 1988 Holden VL Commodore SS Group A which went on to win the 1990 Bathurst race at Mount Panorama. The Legend was now born!
The SV88, based on a VL Calais followed and was the first vehicle to be badged with the new HSV logo. Since then HSV built high performance versions of Utes, Coupes,
Sedans and even the long wheel base Limo’s. In 1992 HSV decided to bring back the highest sports model Holden badge. The Mighty “GTS”, as celebrated on the acclaimed
Monaro models from decades before.
The GTS title boasts of its racing pedigree and is only worn by GMH’s most fierce example from the old chrome bumper days, to its final Australian work of art, the Gen-F.
The 2014 Gen-F HSV GTS that we have on display here is the perfect example of that High Performance GTS badge. Running a 507kw Walkinshaw Racing enhanced LSA engine,
6 speed fast shifting Automatic Transmission and everything else to match, making this one thrilling modern Australian Muscle Car. It has HSV Sports Suspension and the large
6 piston yellow brake package to help tame this ferocious Monster.
The Prussian Steel paintwork is near perfect and just a little bit different to the usual Red, White and Black coloured HSV’s. It presents like a modern version of Gunmetal Grey.
The interior too is very close to brand new condition. Even the always battered Drivers seat, right hand bolster is still firm, in shape and unmarked. However this is no
surprise seeing that this Immaculate HSV GTS has only traveled 16,000kms in its 7 year life and has been babied from new by its 1 fussy owner.
With extreme power and handling, extraordinary luxury, world class safety and tech, plus aggressive Aussie looks, this beast is on par with what high end European
sports cars of its time have to offer. But with one incomparable difference. It is the last ever General Motors Holden model to be produced from our once great Automotive
Manufacturing Industry, which made it an instant collectors item from the day it was produced.
It is offered with Registration and RWC to Victorian buyers and has No finance owing, was never smashed and has a clean title.
Enclosed Interstate Freight can be organised at buyers expense.
