This Genuine Matching Numbers VK HDT SS Brock Commodore has undergone a complete ground up, rotisserie restoration and is in Showroom condition.
It started life as an Asteroid silver SS, but was painted formula blue during the resto seeing you could never make a more accurate Group A replica
than starting with a tagged SS Brock. Genuine Group A Commodore’s in this condition are fetching up to $200,000, which makes this a steal at the
listed price and wont last long on the market.

The Asteroid Silver SS was in superb condition to start with and the complete interior (except carpet) and glass was used for this build, which shows
the condition of the car. It traveled just 185,000km over the last 34 years, but has now done just 800km since the rebuild.

The car left HDT on the 18th of December 1984 ready to make someones Christmas extra special. It came out as Build No 1753.
The Brock sold through Boyanton Motors in Bentleigh, Victoria and has remained a South East Melbourne car ever since.
It will come with all HDT Verification documentation upon sale.

In 2006 the SS was completely stripped to a bare shell. Every panel was bare metaled, genuine NOS panels replaced any hang on panel that was not perfect.
It was then polyestered, primed and painted throughout in Commodore’s most famous colour ever ‘Formula Blue’. The body and paint is show quality throughout.
Genuine NOS HDT spoilers and scoop were sourced to complete the Group A theme. It was decided that the A/C would be removed during the build,
so the holes in the fire wall for the A/C lines were welded up and finished as though they never existed. The 3 reasons being it will never be a daily
driver again, to neaten up the bay and a mild hottie, 308 was planned to sit between the rails..

The 308 engine is the original matching number engine. It was sent to Headz Up Performance for a complete rebuild where the block was bored, honed and decked.
The B cast cylinder heads were ported and machined. The crank was linished, New flat top pistons fitted, new bearings, full ARP stud kit, Rollmaster
timing set, roller rockers, hydraulic roller cam, lifters and heavy duty valve springs were used. The carby was removed and the precision of efi was chosen.
A Torque Power hi rise manifold was drilled and tapped for fuel injectors and an EFI Hardware throttle body was used to meter the air flow.
A Haltech 2000 ECU was installed to manage the new set up, which makes the 308 now run smoother, starts easier and is more economical then before.
There is an upgraded Pierburg external fuel pump down back and an ASR hi-capacity oil pan below. A custom Aluminium Radiator and shroud keep it running cool,
whilst HPC coated tri-y headers connect to twin 2.5″ exhaust, merging into a 3″ single at the diff remove the hot waste.

The original manual gearbox was removed and replaced with a stronger full manual Trimatic, built by Paul Rogers Performance Transmissions.
It has been strengthened and rated at 550hp. It has a 3500rpm TCI stall converter and trans cooler mated to it.
A custom tail shaft then connects to a VL Turbo Borgwarner diff. It has a New 3.9 LSD centre and 31 spline billet Moser axles.
The motor has just been run in and went back for an easy street tune making 218rwkw.

With the power upgrade, brakes and handling was next on the thoughts for the rebuild.
Brakes were left to UPC (Ultra Performance Components) to sort. He suggested, then built custom VE V8 calipers all round, on 330mm VR HSV front disks
and VE rears. The VK pulls up like its newer, younger Commodore brothers now. A complete front end rebuild was performed and then there are Bilstein fully
adjustable coilovers up front, with Bilstein rear shocks, King Spring lowered rear coils, front and rear heavy duty sway bars, plus adjustable top and bottom
diff control arms that combine to make this VK drive more like a VF Walkinshaw, then a 1st generation Commodore. Everything including complete front end &
diff housing was either powder coated or painted to match the clean, fresh black undercarriage.

The interior is all the original gear from 1984 still in immaculate condition, except for carpet which is new. The only 2 mods inside are a
B&M pro ratchet shifter mounted in the original console to assist the Hi-Performance transmission and a Haltech iQ3 racepac dash display that combines
perfectly with the Haltech ecu, to give you precision engine diagnostics on oil, coolant, volts, rpm and an accurate GPS speedo.
This can be removed if needed and the original VK SS cluster is still in place and unmodified.

To complete the classic ‘Blue Meanie’ look, but compliment the upgraded drive train which other wheels could you choose, but the remade 19″ Genuine HDT
white Aero wheels. They are brand new and unmarked like the rest of the vehicle.

This car is a fresh, top quality build and has traveled under 1000km since restoration.
With the rapid price rise of Genuine Brock Commodores the new owner would expect to make 10s of thousands of dollars profit over the next few years
on this car, whilst owning Australia’s most wanted Commodore and absolute Bathurst royalty. It is listed at a bargain price, for a quick trouble free sale.
There is a folder full of receipts relating to the Restoration and detailed pics of the resto as well.

It has 1 year full Victorian reg and will come with standard issue plates should the registration be required.
Can assist with interstate transport.
