1970 Cadillac Eldorado

This 1970 Cadillac Eldorado with wild L.A Lowrider style paintwork is guaranteed to demand attention where ever you go. Whether they love it or not,
it is certain to pull huge crowds usually achieved only by cars valued at well over $100,000…
The Lowrider scene started in Los Angeles, California in the 1940’s within the Mexican-American youth. In the 60’s & 70’s the scene blossomed in L.A
with the Chicanos narrowing in on certain GM built cars due to there X-shaped chassis that was perfectly suited for lowering and modifying with hydraulics
to get the cars as low as possible. They also started individually painted, colourful designs, with airbrush techniques and ran wire-spoke wheels with whitewall tyres.
By the 90’s the scene went mainstream in L.A when it was embraced by the West Coast Hip Hop Culture and featured in the decades best music videos, played worldwide.
These bright and imaginative attributes of the Lowrider scene have been combined with the worlds most luxurious automotive brand Cadillac, to bring you this
eye catching, classic car. It all started with a dry and rust free 1970 Cadillac Eldorado imported from Los Angeles to Melbourne, to start the project.
The car itself was in excellent condition and still runs all of its original panels, chrome, lights, trims, glass, interior and running gear, which is definitely
something to brag about on a 51 year old vehicle.
The Caddy was then stripped back to bare metal on most of the exterior panels, painted yellow as a base, before hundreds of hours were spent laying out, masking
and painting a huge variety of colours, in both Candy and solid paints. The attention to detail is second to none and after an hour of studying the paintwork
you continue to spot new fades, blends, patterns and wild airbrush techniques. Not only is the airbrushing work so good, but then the car has loads of hand painted
pin striping detail, which is a dying art form on its own. If you found someone skilled enough, a paint job like this could set you back over $20,000 alone.
A new vinyl roof was then added to compliment the new one off, artistic paint job.
The 500ci, 8.2 litre V8 engine, 3 speed Auto and drive line was left as it was from L.A and is a good reliable cruiser. The interior too, is the original fitout
from Cadillac in 1970 and is in excellent condition for its age. For RWC the Caddy got 4 new genuine whitewall tyres, $2000 worth of front end work, some new
brake components and a few other bits and pieces around 2 years ago.
The Cadillac itself is a luxurious, reliable, solid car in amazing original condition for half a century old. Combined with this wild, out of this world paint scheme
it is an attention grabber and great value for money at the price listed. It attracts people where ever it goes wanting pics, details and a chat about the rare car.
You usually needed to spend $200k to get this type of recognition, so for $33k its a bargain whether used for business advertising, a weekend cruiser or hire car..
